1982 nabuo ang grupong Lotus Eaters bilang parte ng New Romantic movement. Kahit na huling-huli nila Peter Coyle (vocals), Jeremy Kelly (guitar), Mike Dempsey (bass guitar), and Stephen Creese (drums) ang eleganteng porma at hairstyle, ang tunog ng kanilang musika ay hindi kasing synthesized tulad ng mga Euro Disco bands ng Japan, at Duran Duran. Naging paburito ang kanta nilang "First Picture Of You" ng maraming NU 107 fans, at ito ay isa sa mga kantang laging kasama sa mga track listing ng mga NU Wave mix tape.

oh the memories!

for me, this was the song of the summer of 84. i bought my first guitar right after i finished my junior year in high school, and i tried to learn it by ear, palibhasa di pa nafe-feature ng jingle chordbook magazine ang kantang ito dahil puro spandau at duran duran ang mga kantang laman nito.
