"Pow! Pow! Pow!" Remembering TV Pow

Very few people remember kung sino ang mga original hosts nito, dahil nagiba over time. Some people remember: Dandin Ranillo, Dodong, Joe D' Mango, & even Joey De Leon.

Pero this seemingly silly game segment concept worked at maraming naaliw.

"PAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAW PAW PAW PAW!"
"Sandali!

Many people remember winning P50! Wacky at out of this world ang concept, pero nakakatuwa dahil kahit maikli lang ang segment ng programa at napaka low-tech ang available technology, very inventive ang idea, at kwela nga naman.

Actually, it wasn't like space invaders at all.

I think they use an Intellivision game (Mattel). It's either "Space Battle" or "Space Hawk" that they put on TV.

Judging from the screenshot at:

I think it's "Space Battle".

I remember this segment rather well and, as anonymous had mentioned, TV Pow wasn't like space invaders at all.

From what I recall (I was only in fourth grade then when it aired), crosshairs would be at the centre of a mainly black video screen.

A spacecraft would fly across the screen and the caller would shout "Pow!" as the spacecraft briefly makes itself a target.

I forget what it is exactly the contestant wins, however. Furthermore, I believe that the segment had different hosts over time.

Hay the good days nga naman.

Bilib it or nat, si JOE D' MANGO! Long before he started LOVE NOTES on radio... and yes, the screen showed a target in the middle with spaceships moving in a horizontal fashion through that target...

I remember they squeeze this game segment in between shows. Didn't channel 2 called themselves City 2 during that time?

Wasn't it this guy called "Dodong" who was, at one time, the host of TV Pow? I think "Dodong" was his name on one of the tv shows he was in.
