Game & Watch! The Original Pocket Video Game

"Pahiram!

Meron actually. There are people who owned video game shops noong araw who had an overstock of these and sell them on Ebay. Tumingin ka minsan sa Ebay and you'll be surprised to find quite a few sellers selling them. Yung unang FIRE game na mint condition goes for around $200-$300. Comes with the original box, manual, and batteries. Dati mga P200 lang yun! I used to have 5 of them! Nakaka miss no?

astig. classic to. na-miss ko bigla.

O my God! I love your site, sobra! It's beginning to feel a lot like the 80's again!

Hahaha!

Nice site talaga, keep it up!

Astig Kuya! I used to one as well. It's an old Donkey Kong I used to play from the mid '80s to the early '90s! What can I say to those Game & Watch unit are ultra-durable & made & in Japan.

Nowadays, I'm a MMORPG (preferably FreeStyle Basketball) & PS2 playa.

What can I say about the kids of today, they missed so many things that we've had & they STILL deny it! We have to educate 'em. :D

you have a wonderful blog here...care for an interview?

i use to have one. XD

P3 per day ang contribution. Eh P3 per day lang ang baon ko noon so sakripisyo muna para lang makabili ng Game and Watch!

Egg yung binili namin, and for awhile binalot pa ng kuya ko ng plastic para di daw maluma, kaso ang hirap naman laruin... =)

I remember around 4 years ago, may kaopisina ako na kasama akong biglang na-miss ang game and watch.

When I was a kid, pati Nanay at Auntie ko naglalaro nyan. Hanggang madaling araw, lahat kami gising!

Pinamana ko na ito sa younger brother ko who is 7 yrs old.. and he liked this better than his game boy advance SP..hehehe.. _JAY of Amkor... Nice site! Keep this up!

It's not the same thing, but I have PC versions of Popeye and Octopus. The interface is exactly like the original game and almost exactly the same size, same sound effects. Nakakatuwa. I still play themn once in a while. I wish I had HELMET because that was my favorite.

nung bata kami alam ko yung fire meron kami tapos yung donkey kong na may parang fliptop meron din kami... sobrang aliw dahil sobrang basic pa game & watch compared sa mga PSP at DS Gameboy ngayon but the thrill ng paglalaro ay same pa din...

this was the time na pataasan kayo ng score. 999 dapat ang score mo, di mo mapatay patay kasi nga pag yayabang mo sa mga kaibigan mo. bad part nito di mo malaro agad agad hangat di mo napapakita sa lahat.

how about octopus and submarine battle?i remember there was this man renting these things for 5 bucks a pop back in Pasig

The first Game and watch I ever played was something called Ball-not sure, just a guy juggling a ball which can land in four different positions ( two on each side). That was back in 1981 or 1982. Then the second one was Fire. My aunt gave me Octopus for my birthday one time and I kept it for so many years kahit sira na.
I remember playing Manhole until my eyes literally would tear up and my fingers feel like they were going to fall off.So proud that I was able to hit 999 on that game. Such fun memories.

i saw your site when you mentioned it sa pinoycook blog...being an 80's kid, siyempre visit ako agad sa site mo...and it is sooo great...memories agad...i read your game and watch post..naku, my brother and i had 2 each....i was in 1st year h.s. when it was super uso...i remember my english teacher (ms.galema)borrowing my clasmates' game n watches...until she bought 1 herself...she got manhole and super proud pa siya nun nakabili siya...i just found my octopus and sayang medyo sira na siya...i'm looking for my mickey mouse-egg na na- misplace somewhere sa house...in good condition pa yun...my brother had chef and helmet...both are sira na, but yun units nasa house pa. recently, i showed my eldest (boy of 15) my octopus na game and watch and ayun, hindi impress...although my hubby told him that yun ang lolo ng mga gameboy and psp...hehehe...i saw pala a good game and watch sa greenhills area pa pala...keep the memories coming...astig...

I still remember back in 1983 when Father who was then in Saudi Arabia bought me an Octopus Game and Watch.. Isipin niyo kung kaylan ako tumanda dun ko biglang na miss ang game and watch, kaya heto, suwerti ko, nakabili ako sa ebay for $80. Laking pasasalamat ko pa sa nagbenta.

It was around 1981 (I was 11 or 12 years old) and mga richer classmates ko lang ang may Game & Watch.

Back in elementary I would rush up the 3rd floor every recess because a lot of of the high school students were playing these things, kanya kanyang huddle pa yun! I would watch over their shoulders and boy was I a heckler back then, even if I had no idea what the goal of the game was about. Grabe!

Those were the days you knew your parents love you coz they bought you game and watch. Mine was the turtle bridge thing, di ko na matandaan ang pangalan. If you don't know game and watch, then you did not exist in the 80's
