Wishful Thinking - China Crisis 80's Music Video

Wishful Thinking - China Crisis
"And if I wish to stop it all, and if I wish to comfort the fall. Its just wishful thinking."

China Crisis spent 1984-1985 making their biggest chart run, beginning with their first (and last) Top 10 hit single, Wishful Thinking. Sometimes misunderstood by critics (and with Daly's vocals not to everyone's taste), China Crisis distinguished themselves from their Liverpudlian contempories such as Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, The Teardrop Explodes, and Echo & The Bunnymen by digesting a cornucopia of musical genres, everything from jazz to progressive rock. Despite the stylistic deviations, China Crisis maintained their distinctive sound through a number of albums in the 1980s and '1990s.

I have that CD and I would definitely recommend it! So many CC songs that will stir up wonderful memories of hanging out with friends, and parties at Valle verde and greenhills! Others songs from the CD I love are "King in a Catholic Style", "Black Man Ray", and "You did Cut Me". :)

actually the album from which the single "wishful thinking" was drawn is their debut, "working with fire and steel." it's their second or third album, titled "flaunt the imperfection," that featured the singles "king in a catholic style," "black man ray," and "you did cut me." of the three, it's the third single i dug most. ah the 80s! chong classics, those songs :)

omg i remember attending a party at the corinthian clubhouse titled "african & white," which of course is another china crisis hit.

kid loco -- i like "flaunt the imperfection." that album (produced by walter becker of steely dan) established them as artists to be reckoned with. "you did cut me" is just classy, listen to it now and it sounds just as fresh.
