Our friend (Komikero) Gerry Alanguilan reports: "It is unfortunate, but the collapse of the old komiks industry is all but complete. All the old komiks you used to know like Funny Komiks, Pilipino Komiks, Tagalog Klasiks, Hiwaga, Espesyal, etc... are now all gone. The companies that published them are either closed, or have closed their comics departments." Nostalgia Manila supports our dear comic artists and friends who are fighting hard to revive the Filipino Komiks Industry.
So in this time of great loss and extinction of a favorite Pinoy past-time, Nostalgia Manila treats you to something truly special. In the tradition of Funny Komiks and hilarious Sunday comics serials, Nostalgia Manila brings you an original called Little Jungle!

arpee lazaro,
Thanks very much! It's always good to hear from people like you who recognize my efforts in preserving a slice of Pinoy culture and history. Thanks for the continued support, and do share this blog with all your family and close friends!
The style's quite authentic and it has that retro-cartoon touch to it. I actually thought this came straight from the 70s. May I know who the illustrator is?
Hey Blue Riot,
This is NM the blog founder and creator. I did the comic illustrations myself and came up with the characters and storyline. I made it a point to keep the style very 70s Pinoy komiks.
It would be great to direct a 'Little Jungle' tv sitcom one of these days. ;)
Cheers,
--NM
That's cool! Are you still planning though to post more updates of the comics?
I know! A slice-of-life show in the 70s! Pero I'm disappointed with how inaccurate the past (particularly the American period and the Cold War decades) is portrayed by the media here.
PS. Do you happen to have a dA account?
