Voyagers!(1982)
There was in exsistence a TV series about time travel way before Quantum Leap (which aired in the late '80s). Voyagers was a TV series about Phineas Bogg (Jon-Erik Hexum), a member of a society of time travelers called Voyagers. Phineas Bogg would go on time travel adventures with the aid of a young boy named Jeffrey Jones (Meeno Peluce). Time travel was made possible by using a device called an Omni, and the two adventurers would travel back in time to help history unfolded as we know it. Many historical figures appeared in this series, among them Babe Ruth, Cleopatra, Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, and Harriet Tubman. Over the closing credits of each episode, Jeffrey Jones would say, "If you want to learn more about {whoever appeared in the show}, take a voyage down to your public library; it's all in books!"
I have always been fascinated by the concept of time travel so naturally "Voyagers!" was one of my favorite TV shows when I was a kid. I remember Jon Erik Hexum and his unfortunate and untimely death. If you remember, he accidentally shot himself on the set of a movie with a gun that he thought was unloaded. Sad :( And of course, Meeno Peluce is also known as the younger brother of Soleil Moon Frye, otherwise known as that other child icon of the 80s, Punky Brewster :)
