Teddy Diaz Guitar Solo The Dawn Oktober Storm 1987
Here is a rare clip of Philippine guitar hero Teddy Diaz of The Dawn during the Oktober Storm concert at the Araneta Coliseum on October 31, 1987. The guitar solo was part of the song "Mad Game" (from their first album), and Teddy does his signature Jimmy Page-esque move playing his black Les Paul with a violin bow. It was an electrifying night that inspired many fans to pick up the guitar and learn to play rock and New Wave. The Dawn shared the bill with Identity Crisis and the Rage Band.
The Dawn and their fans suffered a great loss when Teddy Diaz was stabbed to death in front of his girlfriend's house on August 21, 1988 by two bystanders allegedly under the influence of drugs and alcohol. He has been an iconic figure since and will remain a young guitar legend to many.
Many thanks to bakaldos for uploading.
