Drive Around 80's Manila Video
Here's a really cool video uploaded by our friend trese3057 which features a cool car ride around 80's Manila to the tune of our favorite Mike Francis track Let Me In. See if you can recognize the places the car drives through and leave comments. Enjoy!
Many thanks to trese3057 for uploading.

OK I will try. I think in the beginning was Roxas Blvd? Later I think I seen the cultural center on Roxas Blvd? The hotel at the end, the Pavilion? Of course it was not called the Pavilion at that time the name escapes me. Also the hotel at the end could have been in Makati
At 3:38 as the car makes a left, the building on the right is the Legaspi Towers, a condo along Roxas Blvd. At 4:06, the hotel on the left is the Century Park Sheraton. The building at the end of video where the car makes a stop is not a hotel.
I think the video ended at the Manila International Airport. I wish there are more trees in the city. Why not add that to this project?
isn't the last shot the driveway of hotel intercon?
Walang Trapic!!!!!
Really enjoyed that, thank you. I spent a lot of time cruising around Manila in the 80s, and it's great to see it again the way I remember, from the front seat. Very different from my most recent visits.
yeah! its a great video.. a was a college student back then at U.E. & I always remember those days what manila looks like & its much different now. Maybe someday somebody can come up with a complete video of the whole of the metro. Reminiscence..
hay people
nag-start ang video sa adriatico paliko ng vito cruz
from vito cruz lumabas siya ng roxas blvd going north
cut to UN going to roxas
then cut to roxas back to vito cruz and up to century park sheraton ramp
ang landmarks you can see are legaspi towers, magsaysay bldg, philamlife, us embassy, denr region 4 office, yung bldg sa kanto ng salas at roxas blvd, ccp, old holiday inn (now traders hotel). hindi kita ang hilton kasi nasa right siya ng philam. most of these bldgs are still there
most of the time nakatutok ang camera sa kalye kaya wala kang makitang landmark
I love this series
So nice to see that traffic was so light way back then because there were few vehicles on the road.
