1982 inilabas ng German band ang Scorpions, ang ang kanilang album na "Blackout". Dahil sa album na ito, unang nalasahan ng grupo ang kanilang pagsikat sa America. Isa sa mga hits ng album ay ang ballad na "When the Smoke is Going Down". Ang kantang ito ay naging malaking hit sa Pilipinas noond early 80's dahil patok-na-patok sa panglasa ng masa. Lagi mo itong naririning na pinapatugtog pag sumasakay ka ng jeep, ng tricycle, mas lalo na sa mga beer house. Ito ang isa sa mga kantang classified as "Jeepney Rock", dahil laging kasama ito sa track listing ng mga mix tapes na ginagawa ng mga jeepney drivers.

The Electric Company was an educational children's television series produced by the Children's Television Workshop, and broadcast 780 episodes over the course of six seasons, from 1971 to 1977.

The original cast included Morgan Freeman, Rita Moreno, Bill Cosby, Judy Graubart, Lee Chamberlin, and Skip Hinnant. Ken Roberts, who was best known as a soap-opera announcer, was the narrator of some of the segments during the first season. SA DULO Ng Hangganan Ni Bernal

Isang sadya at magaspang na plastisidad ang pinatingkad ni Ishmael Bernal sa kanyang kauna-unahang obra ang Pagdating Sa Dulo (Mever Films/Frankesa Films, 1971). Nakita sa pelikula ang pag-aabala ni Bernal sa tema ng alyenasyon, ng pagtiwalag, ng pagtatago at ng pagtanggap. Isang estratehiyang hindi lamang tumatanggi sa kintab at kinang ng mga pelikulang may higit na malaking badyet kundi matagumpay din itong nakalikha ng isang kapaligirang umaapaw sa iba't-ibang uri ng pagkalugmok at pagkakait. Mula pagkakalulong sa alkoholismo hanggang karahasang domestiko at prostitusyon. Kadalasan, sa proseso ng pagsasaliksik ng indibidwal na sarili ay nilalamon ang katauhan ng mga simbolikal na sistemang kinakalaban o minimithi. Talunan ang mga tauhan dahil kapwa nila hindi nagawang gapiin ang mga istrukturang pangkamalayang pumipiit sa kanila. Sa isang pagtingin ay maaring sabihing hindi rin naman talunan ang mga tauhan. Sa esensiya, ang unang pagtinging pagkatalo ng mga tauhan ay maaring basahin bilang pananagumpay ng tauhan laban sa pisikal, metapisikal, simbolikal at pangkamalayang istrukturang kanilang kinapipiitan. Isinalarawan ni Bernal ang personal niyang ideyolohiya. Ang personal bang pagtingin ng direktor sa kanyang pelikula ay siya ring personal na pagtingin ng kolektibong mamamayang nanood ng kanyang pelikula? Subalit hindi sapat ang ganitong pagtatanong sa paghihimay ng pelikula. Kinakailangan din igpawan ang kakulangan ng ganitong balangkas ng pagsusuri. Kailangan nating tingnan na ang pelikula, tulad ng anumang kultural na anyo, ay hindi repleksyon lamang ng lipunan o ng lumilikha ng sining na ito. Ang pelikula bilang isang kultural na teksto ay hindi pananalamin lamang ng isang uri. Higit sa lahat, ang pelikula bilang teksto ay produksiyon ng ideyolohiya, at bilang produksiyon ng ideyolohiya, ito ay pumapaloob sa tunggalian ng mga ugnayang sosyal na umiinog at nakakabit sa ugnayang pangkapangyarihan. Ginagampanan ni Ching/Paloma (Rita Gomez) ang kanyang papel bilang mangingibig ni Pinggoy (Vic Vargas) nang may pang-unawa kaya ipinapain nito ang kanyang katawan bilang imbakan ng kapangyarihan at nasa ng lalaki, marahil bilang isang talinghaga ng pagpuputa sa mahalay na kahingian ng komersyo at industriya.

Tinutukoy din ng Pagdating Sa Dulo ang iba mula sa iba pa dahil isa itong pelikula tungkol sa pelikula, lalo na ang Pelikulang Pilipino. Sa kabila ng sinematikong pagsasaysay ng pelikula nasa bingit ng posibleng pagsulong ang industriya, subalit hindi ito manggagaling sa dagdag na kapital o maging sa walang hirap na paghukay at pagsasatao ng hinagangaang mga bituin. Ang transpormasyon ay naisulong sa mabisang paglalangkap ng mga elemento ng pelikula. Masinop ang sinematograpiya sa pagsasalarawan ng dominasyon nang hindi nagiging mapagsamantala. Naging makabuluhan ang dulang pampelikula sa paraang nakapagsangkot ito ng mga tauhan, lalo na yaong matalinong ginampanan ni Rita Gomez na pinaaalingawngawang buhay at karanasan ng pangunahing tauhan at naglulundo sa kolektibong mithiin ng mga kababaihan. Mahusay rin ang karakterisasyon sa paglalahad ng kapani-paniwalang motibasyon ng mga tauhan upang mag-isip, kumilos at magbago. Sa pamamagitan ng pagsasalarawan sa hugpungan at umpugan ng katawan at pagnanasa, ipinakita ni Bernal sa pelikula ang walang takot na paglalantad sa mukha ng paggamit ng posisyon ng dominasyon sa industriya ng Pelikulang Pilipino.
