ReplyDeleteIn fairness, Lorna Tolentino worked very very hard to be where she is. She was family breadwinner and she really struggled from child actress to teen pop star (briefly--she had a hit song "WHO BROKE YOUR HEART AND MADE YOU WRITE THAT SONG" using another name during the early 1970s), to sexy star to the multiwarded actress that she is today. Very few people would know that Lorna is actually creative and not just street-smart. she studied architecture and fine arts at UST. But she had to quit to support her family. She is a good role-model for many aspiring stars.
ReplyDeleteBut i still prefer Dina Bonnevie because of her sultriness, class, elegance, intelligence in a natural, effortless way --The Scholastican nuns of St. Agnes Academy in Legazpi City, Albay must have trained her early on. Her French-Swiss-Bicolano mix also helped.
I like both actresses but I'd choose Dina by just a bit. It is a plus that Dina is also a UP and Ateneo alumna (though motherhood got in the way--she failed to submit her undergraduate thesis to formalize her academic affiliations).
Holy crap! Landslide para kay Ms. D!!! Sadly, add me to a vote for Ms. D. Never really were enamored with Lorna T., even back in the day.
