Bagets!
The term Bagets was coined by William Martinez and Alona Alegre who came up with the idea of the movie.
William Martinez, as star of Regal Films, offered the script to Regal producer Lily Y. Monteverde (Mother Lily). The Regal producer, however, rejected the idea saying it would not make money. They offered the story to Vic del Rosario Jr., owner of the rival Viva Films. Del Rosario's condition: William Martinez, a contract star of the rival Regal, should be in the movie. William agreed.
William Martinez (Tonton) is the most senior among the main cast. He was already passed his teen years. Bagets means teener. Also starring: Herbert Bautista (Gilbert), J.C. Bonnin (Topee), Raymond Lauchengco (Arnel), Aga Muhlach (Adie), Jobelle Salvador (Melissa), Eula Valdez (Janice), Yayo Aguila (Rose), Baby Delgado (Ivy), & Chanda Romero (Christine).
THIS SPECIAL INCLUDES:
Bagets Opening Credits, Just Got Lucky Lyrics, Why Don't You Care? (1984), The Ultimate Bagets Quiz, Paano ba maging Bagets?, Look At Me! (1984), Pormang Nostalgia-Sperry Top Siders

Hanep pare! Nice one! Napanood niyo ba yung Bagets reunion sa ASAP '06 last month? Nag dance number si Yayo, William, Eula and Cheska, tapos later they were joined on stage by Herbert and Ramon Christopher. Tapos sabi pa ni Eula eh "Forever Bagets!" I posted some sreen caps at the end of this thread. Check it out!:

one of the best youth oriented movie, talagang nakakarelate ang kabataan that time, everytime na ipapalabas ito sa tv talagang inaabangan ko, just to remember the good ol days, and if ever na may babalikan akong taon e, 80s definitely, ang simple ng buhay. napaka memorable na 80 sa kin, it was in 1985 when my gf died of cancer, kala ko sa movie nangyayari kahit pala sa real life. how can i forget the 80s.
ReplyDeletewow! memories...i remember bagets as ain! they went on a campus tour to promote their movie. and they went sa school ko nun (pwu-jmd) and i remember our student council president stumbling her face off sa dami ng tao!!!hehehe...ako, i was positioned at the third floor balcony and got a good view of the bagets guys...haaayy..also, how can i suoer forget bagets..nag-shootng sila near our house...yun house ni herbert bautista dun na apartment? sa san antonio village, makati yun...as in super tambay kami ng yaya namin to see herbert (who was my super fave among the bagets guys)...his mom was portrayed by luz valdez and his dad was his real dad, butch bautista...haaay...
ReplyDeleteI have this movies (Bagets 1 & 2) in my collection. Every now and then pinapanood ko to reminisce the good ole' days. Nakakamiss ang highschool life pag naaalala ko. It brings back a lot of memeories. I think this will be my eternal reminder of the 80's.
