Cocoy Laurel I remember from those "Lollipops and Roses" movies he did with Nora Aunor in the 70s. I remember one movie "Lollipops and Roses...at Burong talangka" was filmed in San Francisco and they hired a young, then unknown American actor at the time named Don Johnson to play the bad guy. Don Johnson of course later gained worlwide fame playing Detective Sonny Crockett on "Miami Vice". Here is a picture I found. Vince, I had a crush on Cocoy Laurel when he did "Margie,Oh,Margie" with Margie Moran. He sang a lot of Broadway-like songs in that movie and his talent on the stage really showed. Margie on the other hand was awkward.
oh my gosh, yes, I remember that movie! If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Margie the reiging Miss Universe at that time? The one scene I remember is Margie coming out on stage and Cocoy being dazzled by her beauty, going "Wow!"...Are there VCDs or DVDs of this movie out there somewhere? I would love to buy one!
Uy, Ebay guy Edward! May cliente ka na kay Vince! Kopya raw ng "Margie,Oh,Margie" please! Ako rin, interesado kung mura, hihihi!
Sigh! Kinanta ni Cocoy yung song na "The Way You Look Tonight" sa sine na yon.
Diba, si Sylvia La Torre yung nanay ni Margie dun playing her usual old-fashioned character. Typecasted na sya sa ganung role. She used to always hit her male co-star with her abaniko everytime they hit on her. Maria Clara Type na Espanggol!
